Houston’s history lives in the Historic Third Ward. Historic Third Ward is the oldest of the District’s neighborhoods and encompasses the largest concentration of African- Americans in the area. It has emerged as a bustling area for land development, major commercial corridors, thriving small businesses and many warehouse and manufacturing enterprises. On top of all that, it is also where singing superstar Beyoncé grew up.
