Ever want to stroll through history while sipping some fine wine? Here’s your chance, the Houston Museum of Natural Science’s first ever Wine Before Time event is coming up this September 27. Enjoy all the exhibits of the museum — dinosaur skeletons, fabulous gems, Texas wildlife, and ancient Egyptian mummies — after hours while delighting in tasty nibbles and more than 30 wines. It’s Night at the Museum with adult beverages.

“Wine Before Time, happening Saturday, September 27 from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. here at HMNS, invites guests to experience the magic of our museum after hours, with a glass of wine in hand,” says Joe Cyrus, Sr. Director of Special Events at the museum.

“It’s a unique opportunity to sip and stroll through our incredible exhibition halls while enjoying delicious food pairings and over 30 exceptional wines from around the globe.

“This lavish event perfectly blends historical grandeur with modern indulgence, creating a truly timeless vibe. It’s an evening designed for discovery — of new wines, new flavors, and the captivating stories held within our museum walls.”

HMNS is one of the jewels of the Museum District. Begun in 1909, the museum moved into its current home in 1969. In June 2012, HMNS opened a new 230,000-square wing to house its paleontology hall, more than doubling the size of the original museum. The hall features Wyrex, a predator that roamed the Earth 65 million years ago. One of the largest land predators ever, Wyrex had a taste for Triceratops and Hadrosaurs. The fossil offers a thrilling glimpse into a world where giants ruled and survival was a daily battle and might be glad for a sip of wine after seeing this frightening giant.

At Wine Before Time, you’ll get to sample thirty wines from around the globe, plus three snack pairings, and a limited-edition commemorative souvenir for the general admission price of $100.

Pop for the VIP experience and you’ll get all that plus early admission (7:00 p.m., beat the crowds!), samples of ten premium reserve wines, a $20 voucher for the food offerings, and entry into the VIP lounge.

Get your tickets here for this fun event. Twenty-one and up only. Parking is free but limited, another reason to get the early bird VIP ticket. Ancient fossils, modern grapes, timeless vibes. It will be an evening to never forget.
